By partnering with an influential network of business leaders, clinicians, scientists, and media figures, we are creating a new model for social change. We invite you to join our mission to make mental health support accessible to everyone.
The role
We are looking for an empathetic and experienced VP of Engineering to serve as a key technical partner and leader in our New York City office. This is a full-time, on-site executive position. You will be instrumental in shaping our technical strategy, overseeing architectural decisions, and building out our engineering team to support our platform’s rapid growth.
Core responsibilities
- Lead the engineering function by collaborating with product and design teams to establish a scalable technical architecture that prioritizes security, performance, and user experience.
- Define our engineering culture and operational standards, including the establishment of OKRs and the recruitment of both full-time and contract engineering talent.
- Act as a technical thought leader for the organization by representing our work through public speaking engagements and written content.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong background in full-stack development and team leadership. We require the following qualifications:
- At least 10 years of programming experience, with proven expertise in backend development using TypeScript or Python.
- Demonstrated proficiency in building web applications with NextJS.
- A deep understanding of database technologies, data warehousing, and cloud administration, specifically within Google Cloud.
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks like Jest or Playwright.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
Compensation and benefits
The annual salary for this position is $225,000 to $250,000, depending on your specific experience and skills. In addition to competitive pay, we offer a comprehensive benefits package to support your well-being and professional growth:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Life insurance coverage.
- Generous paid time off and paid holidays.
- Commuter benefits.
- A dedicated learning budget to support your professional development.
How to apply
If you are passionate about using technology to address the mental health crisis and meet the requirements listed above, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to be considered for an interview. We look forward to reviewing your background and discussing how your leadership can help us advance our mission.
