VP, Engineering at Ampd Energy

At Ampd Energy, we are dedicated to building a zero-emission future. Since our founding in 2014, we have developed advanced, compact, and connected battery energy storage systems that replace hazardous diesel generators across sectors like construction, mining, and civil works. As we prepare for significant expansion, we are looking for a VP, Engineering to join our executive team on a full-time, remote basis. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our next-generation product lines, leading our integrated engineering department, and ensuring our technical strategy aligns with our mission to make a global impact.

Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and Mentorship: You will guide and nurture our engineering team, fostering professional growth while ensuring we deliver exceptional results through clear communication and effective management.
• Strategic Product Development: You will oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from initial requirement conceptualization to the final transition into operations, while implementing scalable processes to track project deliverables and performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration and Risk Mitigation: You will work closely with departments such as Product Management, Operations, and Quality to integrate engineering excellence into every stage, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks throughout the development cycle.

Requirements

• Educational Background: A degree in Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Experience: At least 10 years of experience in engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role.
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in the design, development, and manufacturing of battery energy storage systems, including familiarity with relevant compliance, certification, and testing frameworks.
• Leadership Skills: A demonstrated ability to build and manage multidisciplinary teams, solve complex technical challenges through analytical thinking, and maintain a scale-up mindset in a fast-paced environment.
