At Global Atlantic Financial Group, we are dedicated to helping individuals and institutions secure their financial futures through tailored life insurance and retirement solutions. As a wholly-owned subsidiary of the global investment firm KKR, we combine a strong financial foundation with deep expertise in risk and investment management. Our success is built on a culture of integrity and teamwork, where we prioritize long-term relationships with our clients. We are currently looking for a visionary leader to join our Enterprise Data organization and help us shape the future of how we manage, govern, and utilize our most valuable asset: data.
The opportunity
We are seeking a VP of Data Governance to lead the design and implementation of our data governance function. This is a hands-on executive role where you will act as a primary architect for our data management ecosystem. You will oversee the creation of advanced systems that prioritize data quality and accessibility, ensuring that our data infrastructure supports the complex needs of our retail, investment, and institutional businesses. By bridging the gap between technical data processing and business strategy, you will ensure that data governance is an integral part of our execution rather than an afterthought.
A day in the life
- Partner with business stewards and stakeholders to govern data at the source, ensuring that our systems of record are reliable and accurate.
- Design and manage robust data warehousing governance solutions that provide high-quality data for critical functions like finance, risk, compliance, and legal.
- Provide thought leadership on advanced data processing techniques while collaborating with IT teams to integrate cutting-edge data management tools and technologies.
Who you are
You are an experienced leader with a deep technical background in data management and a passion for building data-fluent organizations. You possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Over 5 years of hands-on experience in MDM systems integration, reference data management, and data governance, with a proven track record using tools like Reltio, Alation, Collibra, or Informatica.
- Strong proficiency in ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and the ability to write and analyze complex SQL queries.
- A solid understanding of data governance frameworks such as DCAM and DAMA/PMBOK.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- The ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational change.
Please note that you must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S., as we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Why you'll love it here
We offer a competitive base salary range of $136,000 to $260,000 USD, with actual compensation determined by your experience, location, and skill level. Beyond the paycheck, we are committed to your total well-being and professional growth. Our benefits package includes:
- Comprehensive medical insurance plans tailored to your family's needs.
- A 401(k) plan with a company match and immediate vesting on your contributions.
- Flexible hybrid work arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance.
- Generous paid time off.
We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion, and we strive to create a culture where every team member can thrive.
