You will join Nabis, the world’s largest licensed cannabis wholesale platform, connecting hundreds of brands to retailers across California, New York, and Nevada. Backed by Y Combinator and notable investors including the co-founder of DoorDash and the creator of Gmail, we are building the technology that will power the future of this rapidly expanding industry.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and scale a globally distributed engineering organization of 44 people across the United States and India, setting technical direction and building a strong, inclusive engineering culture.
- Define and execute the technical roadmap in close partnership with Product and Executive leadership, ensuring technology investments align with business priorities and long-term strategy.
- Architect and evolve infrastructure that supports AI-native, data-intensive systems and automation tooling while maintaining high standards for quality, security, and reliability.
What you'll bring
- At least ten years of software engineering experience, including five or more years in senior engineering leadership roles at the Director or VP level.
- Proven success leading distributed or hybrid teams, including the management of international contractors, particularly in India.
- Hands-on experience with AI/ML-powered platforms, developer infrastructure, or automation tooling, along with the ability to contribute directly to system architecture and technical decisions.
- Experience building engineering organizations and processes from the ground up in fast-growing startups or scale-up environments.
- Strong organizational design, hiring, and people-development skills, paired with clear cross-functional communication and a low-ego, high-accountability approach.
- Fluency in English.
What you'll get
We offer a salary range of $275,000 - $300,000 plus equity compensation, with the exact package determined by experience and location.
