We are Wahed, a New York-based financial technology company dedicated to reducing financial inequality by providing accessible, values-based digital financial services. We specialize in shariah-compliant wealth management and are currently expanding our global footprint. We are looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer to join our team on a contractor basis. This is a hybrid role based in the United Kingdom where you will help us build world-leading financial products that make personal finance intuitive and engaging for a global audience.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers and fellow designers, to manage the entire UX/UI development lifecycle.
- Lead feature ideation by aligning business objectives with elegant, user-friendly design flows across our mobile and web platforms.
- Conduct thorough UX research and analysis to optimize user journeys, improve funnel conversion, and ensure our visual aesthetic remains cohesive across all international markets.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience in product or UX design, ideally within the FinTech sector.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating your ability to conceptualize features from scratch and successfully launch digital products.
- A degree in a design-related or technical field.
- Deep understanding of user behavior, personal finance, and the UX/UI release cycle.
- Excellent communication skills with a high degree of empathy and an openness to constructive feedback.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage multiple initiatives independently.
