This is not your average UI/UX Design role; it's an opportunity to bring experience and knowledge in BOTH mobile interface design and user experience design methodology to find creative solutions in the business world. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with the Sr. Manager of Design & User Experience, and cross-functionally with product, engineering, and management teams. As part of the team, you’ll be incorporating customer feedback, usage metrics, and usability findings into designs in order to enhance user experience.

You have a strong understanding of user research methods and how to identify user needs and pain points. You are skilled at evaluating complex systems and processes from a user perspective to conceptualize intuitive, people-centered solutions. You quarterback design projects, working closely with stakeholders and teams across departments. You thrive under pressure, embrace challenging problems, and consistently deliver innovative, user-tested solutions through relentless commitment to understanding user needs.
In this role, you will orchestrate the design process, seamlessly integrating user research, engineering, and content teams. Your dedication to enhancing the user experience transcends design; you are a true user advocate, coordinating across teams to deliver polished, people-centered experiences. This role seeks a candidate with a proven track record of designing successful, polished experiences for a variety of users and platforms. You have a history of exceeding client and user expectations through meticulous attention to detail, rigorous usability testing, and disciplined design processes. The ideal candidate will set the standard for excellence in user experience through user-centered design practices, strong facilitation skills, and polished client presentations.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
- Lead the charge in streamlining the user experience of both new and existing features within our technician-facing native applications (Android & iOS).
- Work closely with Front-end engineers to ensure seamless implementation of design requirements, providing necessary design assets, and ensuring the design vision is maintained in the final product
- Work closely with the Sr. Manager of Design & User Experience, in crafting and leading design processes for ServiceTrade’s mobile applications (primarily), and web applications.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups
- Work in a highly collaborative environment with engineers to ensure clarity in how designs are implemented and used
- This role is REQUIRED to work US Eastern time zone hours
Knowledge and Skills
- 4+ years of mobile design experience in both iOS and Android, and a strong portfolio to match.
- Bonus points for experience in designing web-based (desktop) SaaS applications
- A keen understanding of common practices in user interface design and user experience philosophies
- Prior exposure to UX research, including planning, designing, and participating in user sessions, analyzing findings, and articulating results

- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant program, such as web communications or design
