We manage extensive transmission and sub-transmission networks throughout Connecticut, Maine, and New York. Key outcomes
- Lead and execute complex reliability and market driven studies, including assessments for voltage, thermal capacity, transfer limits, short circuits, and system stability.
- Evaluate transmission systems across various voltage levels and translate your findings into clear documentation, technical reports, and presentations.
- Identify and implement creative improvements to our planning workflows to enhance overall efficiency.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, providing mentorship to team members to support our collective technical growth.
- Represent the company by engaging with internal departments and external industry peers, including regional organizations like the NPCC and various ISOs.
- Maintain a deep understanding of industry standards and regulatory criteria, such as NERC and NPCC guidelines, while utilizing specialized software like PSS/E, TARA, and ASPEN.
- Conduct site inspections for transmission and substation facilities and participate in relevant industry workshops and training sessions.
Requirements
We are seeking a senior-level power systems engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment. You should possess strong communication skills and a drive for technical innovation. While we value experience in substation design, construction, and protection and control systems, your ability to work effectively within a team is our highest priority. Proficiency in English is required for this on-site role based in the United States.
Preferred qualifications
Candidates who have gained familiarity with industry-standard planning software packages, such as PSS/E and TARA, will be at a distinct advantage. Additionally, a solid working knowledge of regional planning standards, including NERC and NPCC, is highly desirable.
