At firsthand, we are dedicated to supporting individuals living with serious mental illness through a holistic, human-centered approach. Our teams, which include peer recovery specialists, clinicians, and benefits experts, walk side by side with the people we serve to help them reconnect with the healthcare they need. By leveraging lived experience and partnering with health plans, we are fundamentally changing how society supports those most impacted by mental health challenges. We are looking for passionate problem-solvers who view their work as a calling to join our growing team.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior Training Specialist to join us in a full-time, remote capacity. This is a pivotal role for our organization as we continue to scale and evolve. You will report directly to the Director of Learning and Development and take ownership of the administration and implementation of dynamic training programs. This position is designed for someone who wants to do more than just teach software; you will be instrumental in building our culture, driving performance, and ensuring our clinical and non-clinical team members have the support they need to succeed.
What will you do?
- Lead the end-to-end clinical onboarding process, which includes shadowing team members, providing constructive feedback, and coaching on best practices.
- Develop and maintain a wide array of training materials, including instructional guides, online learning content, and sessions that translate complex clinical concepts for non-clinical staff.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and the Clinical Support Team to measure training effectiveness and continuously evolve our programs to meet the needs of our growing organization.
What makes you a great fit?
To be successful in this role, you should be a resourceful, action-oriented professional who thrives in a fluid and rapidly changing environment. We value candidates who are comfortable moving forward with imperfect information and who possess a genuine passion for inclusive, empowering education.
- You have 3 to 4 years of experience as a practicing clinician, such as an RN, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician’s Assistant, alongside 3 to 4 years of experience as a trainer or facilitator.
- You possess excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with a proven ability to lead both in-person sessions and interactive webinars.
- You have deep experience with Electronic Health Records training and a solid understanding of change management principles.
- You are comfortable with tools that support asynchronous work, such as Google Suite and Slack.
- You are willing to travel up to 60% of the time, particularly to support the launch of new markets.
What's in it for you?
We are committed to the well-being of our team members and offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your physical and mental health. Perks include:
- 401k retirement plan with company match.
- Comprehensive dental and vision insurance.
- Paid time off to ensure you have time to recharge.
- Equity compensation to share in our collective success.
- A dedicated mental wellness budget.
- The flexibility of a remote work environment.
