As a certified B Corp and a company recognized by Fast Company as one of the most innovative in the world, we are looking for bold individuals who are ready to tackle complex challenges to make a lasting environmental impact.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior Textile Product Development Engineer to join our team on a full-time, hybrid basis. This is a vital position for someone with deep expertise in recycled materials and supply chain collaboration. You will be based in the United States, specifically on the East Coast, and will play a key role in advancing our sustainable textile initiatives by driving development in both natural and synthetic recycled fibers.
What will you do?
- Build and maintain strong relationships with textile mills and manufacturing partners to ensure the successful integration of our recycled materials into their production processes.
- Apply your technical knowledge of PET chips and man-made cellulosic fibers to optimize product quality, sustainability, and functionality across various textile applications.
- Lead research, testing, and data analysis in both lab and manufacturing environments to troubleshoot production issues and support our ongoing R&D efforts.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should have a strong background in textile engineering, materials science, or a related field. We are looking for someone who brings the following qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of textile manufacturing processes, specifically regarding recycled PET, polymer spinning, and man-made cellulosic fibers like lyocell or viscose.
- Proven experience collaborating with spinning, weaving, and knitting mills, along with a solid understanding of dyeing and fiber-to-fabric construction.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage R&D projects independently while working effectively within a collaborative, fast-paced team.
- A willingness to travel frequently, both domestically to our Danville, VA campus and internationally to partner sites.
- Excellent communication skills and a passion for sustainable material innovation.
What's in it for you?
We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and professional growth. When you join our team, you will have access to:
- Unlimited vacation time to ensure you stay refreshed.
- Competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans.
- Stock options so you can share in our company's success.
- A hybrid work environment that balances flexibility with team collaboration.
