The role
We are seeking a Senior Test & Validation Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in Romania. This is an advanced role for an experienced professional who is ready to take ownership of our product validation processes. You will play a critical part in ensuring our machines meet high functional standards while collaborating with a global team of experts.
Core responsibilities
- Define and validate product requirements by incorporating field feedback and the voice of our customers to ensure our designs meet all functional and non-functional goals.
- Design and execute comprehensive verification and validation test plans for our reverse vending machines and their sub-components, including the implementation of automated test cases in C, C++, and Python.
- Analyze operational machine data to identify trends, create detailed test reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve system performance.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a passion for embedded systems. We require the following qualifications:
- An engineering degree in Mechatronics, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in testing embedded hardware, including work with serial interfaces like UART, I2C, RS485, and CAN.
- Proficiency in writing automated test scripts in C, C++, or Python within Linux-based frameworks.
- Experience developing firmware for embedded microcontrollers such as Atmel or Cortex-M.
- Hands-on experience using lab equipment like oscilloscopes, signal generators, and multi-meters.
- Strong communication skills in English, with German language skills considered a significant advantage.
