Technical Product Manager, Storage Hardware Platforms at Cloudian, Inc

Since the 2011 introduction of our HyperStore platform, we have become the most widely deployed independent provider of object storage, specializing in data management software for the hybrid cloud. Our solutions provide military-grade security and limitless scalability, allowing organizations to optimize data access and manage information across the edge, the core, and the cloud. We are currently seeking a senior-level Technical Product Manager to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity to help drive the future of our hardware platforms.

Key outcomes

• Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for both hardware and software storage platforms, including defining server specifications for our appliances.
• Manage complex relationships with ODM and OEM vendors to navigate supply chain challenges while maintaining our high performance and reliability standards.
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert on hardware and software interoperability, ensuring our software-defined storage is perfectly optimized for the physical hardware it powers.
• Oversee the full product lifecycle, from initial technical specifications and design to rollout and ongoing optimization.
• Translate complex technical requirements into clear user stories and specifications for our engineering teams.
• Act as a technical advocate by presenting our roadmap to partners and customers while gathering field feedback to influence future product iterations.
• Collaborate across departments, including sales, marketing, and operations, to ensure successful go-to-market strategies and product alignment.

Requirements

• Between 5 and 15 years of experience in product planning or an engineering-related role, with a specific focus on defining server hardware and managing vendor relationships.
• Deep technical knowledge of storage architectures, including object storage and software-defined storage, along with hands-on experience in performance benchmarking.
• Proficiency with storage components such as NVMe, SAS, SATA, RAID configurations, and server bills of materials.
• Strong understanding of Linux environments and basic scripting capabilities.
• Experience with storage security standards, including encryption at rest, key management, and compliance frameworks like FIPS or FedRAMP.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical roadmaps to executive-level stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and Lean development methodologies.
• A bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• The ability to travel up to 15 percent of the time for professional engagements.
• Fluency in English.
