The opportunity

We are looking for a Technical Lead to join our engineering team and help us build robust, scalable financial infrastructure. In this role, you will be the bridge between technical execution and team leadership, guiding the direction of our projects while ensuring we maintain high standards of quality. You will work closely with product managers and designers to achieve our goal of making every expense complete. This is a perfect position for a leader who enjoys staying hands-on with code while also mentoring developers and shaping the long-term technical strategy of our platform.

A day in the life

• You will lead your team through the software development lifecycle, from reviewing technical designs and stories to writing code and managing releases.
• You will act as a mentor by participating in code reviews, providing constructive feedback, and coaching engineers to help them grow their capabilities.
• You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into high-performance technical solutions.

Who you are

You are an experienced Engineering Lead who thrives in a collaborative, full-stack environment. You have a deep understanding of how lean development teams operate and you are comfortable working in a hybrid setting within Australia. While we value diverse technical backgrounds, you will find success here if you are proficient in Python, Django, React, and React Native. You are a clear communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical partners, and you have a passion for building teams that deliver exceptional software. Experience in the payments industry or managing offshore teams is considered a significant bonus.
