At Homebound we are using technology to make building a home possible for anyone, anywhere. Our experienced team of construction, real estate, design, and technology experts has raised $150 million from investors including Google, Khosla, and Thrive Ventures, and we are already scaling operations in Texas, Colorado, and Florida. We are a remote-first company that is re-imagining every stage of residential construction so homeowners can choose a location, pick a plan, personalize it, and complete the purchase entirely online.
What is this role?
We are hiring a Technical Lead Manager at the senior level on a full-time basis. The position is fully remote and open to candidates located anywhere. You will continue to write production code while directly managing a small team of two to four engineers, guiding both the technical direction and the day-to-day delivery of the work.
What will you do?
- Define the technical roadmap for your product area, make architecture and data-model decisions, and ship high-quality, full-stack features from design through deployment and monitoring.
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of two to four engineers by running 1-on-1s, giving actionable feedback, driving planning and prioritization, and holding the team accountable for outcomes.
- Partner with product and design to translate complex, real-world construction processes into reliable software, recruit new talent, and raise the overall quality bar across the engineering organization.
What makes you a great fit?
You bring at least ten years of professional software-engineering experience and have already served as a tech lead, team lead, or engineering manager. You have shipped full-stack web applications using modern technologies such as TypeScript, Node, React, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and AWS, and you actively integrate AI coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor into your daily workflow. You communicate clearly in writing, take ownership without waiting for direction, and enjoy balancing rapid iteration with long-term system reliability. Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders and mentoring other engineers is essential.
What's in it for you?
We offer the freedom to work remotely from wherever you do your best work, along with regular in-person offsites that bring the team together. You will have real autonomy over both technical and people decisions, the chance to shape a fast-growing platform that is modernizing an entire industry, and the opportunity to grow your leadership scope within a small, high-impact engineering organization.
