Technical Founders Associate - Software Engineer (Data & AI) at Polaranalytics

At Polar, we are building the definitive data platform for omnichannel commerce. By connecting disparate data sources like Shopify, Amazon, and Meta into a unified Snowflake warehouse, we empower brands to automate workflows and gain insights through AI without needing to write complex SQL. Our founders, who previously built data platforms at scale for companies like Turo and Airbnb, are now bringing that same level of sophistication to over 4,000 merchants, including brands like Quadlock and ARMRA Colostrum. We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our remote-first team as a Technical Founders Associate, where you will help us transition from founder-led intensity to a systematic, high-growth operation.

What you'll be doing

• You will own the end-to-end deployment of AI agents, taking workflows from initial scoping through to production while measuring their direct impact on revenue and costs.
• You will work directly with our CTO on high-stakes initiatives, ranging from architecture decisions and technical pre-sales calls to troubleshooting critical pipeline issues.
• You will build and refine our core systems, including data pipelines, our semantic layer, and RAG evaluation harnesses, while transforming bespoke customer solutions into scalable platform features.

What you'll bring

We are looking for a candidate who is deeply business-oriented and comfortable balancing technical engineering with direct customer interaction. You should be highly organized, capable of managing your own week autonomously, and possess the confidence to challenge assumptions when you see a better path forward. Your background should include:

• Strong computer science and engineering fundamentals, with proficiency in JavaScript and SQL.
• Real-world experience or an obsessive curiosity regarding LLMs and AI agents.
• A habit of using AI tools like Cursor or Claude Code to accelerate your development workflow.
• Excellent communication skills in English, as you will be owning relationships with our customers.
• A proactive mindset where you prioritize the company's success over rigid job descriptions.
