At Overstory, we are on a mission to combat the climate crisis by providing real-time intelligence on the planet's vegetation. We use machine learning to analyze satellite imagery, helping over 40 global utilities reduce wildfire risks and improve grid reliability. As a Technical Delivery Lead, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between our advanced technical capabilities and the real-world needs of our customers.
Responsibilities
- Define the technical strategy for delivery projects and ensure successful, timely results for our clients.
- Collaborate with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and developers to implement project requirements.
- Act as a key liaison between our technical teams and business stakeholders to communicate progress, challenges, and value.
- Manage project lifecycles using agile methodologies, balancing the need for scalable architecture with practical, rapid solutions.
- Perform hands-on tasks such as processing satellite imagery, analyzing GIS data with Python, and validating output quality.
- Prepare technical insights and statistics for customer presentations.
Must-haves
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Proven experience leading technical projects from inception through to delivery in a commercial environment.
- At least 2 to 3 years of experience working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse stakeholders.
- A pragmatic approach to problem-solving, capable of making trade-offs and prioritizing effectively under pressure.
- Ability to work remotely within a time zone +/- 1 hour from CET.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with geospatial data engineering, data science, or remote sensing.
- Background in delivering B2B digital or data-driven products.
- Previous experience working within a distributed, remote team.
