Tech Lead Software Engineer at Core

We are Core, a venture-backed startup based in New York City that is transforming the digital fitness landscape. We believe the industry is shifting toward an instructor-first and virtual-first model, and we are building the software necessary to help fitness professionals thrive in this new environment. Our mission is to make fitness more accessible by connecting a diverse range of instructors with students who are currently underserved by existing digital options. As we prepare to launch our MVP, we are looking for passionate individuals to join us as early team members and help shape our engineering culture from the ground up.

What is this role?

We are seeking a Tech Lead Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a lead-level position that offers a hybrid work arrangement within the United States. You will play a pivotal role in our early-stage product development, working closely with our design team to prototype, iterate, and ship high-quality code for our platform.

What will you do?

• Design and implement exceptional user experiences for both fitness instructors and their students across mobile and desktop web environments.
• Take ownership of the frontend architecture by building with Svelte and ensuring our technical decisions prioritize solving real user problems.
• Collaborate within an agile environment to turn abstract ideas into functional reality while evaluating technical tradeoffs to maintain a fast pace of development.

What makes you a great fit?

You have a deep understanding of frontend fundamentals that goes beyond just knowing the latest frameworks. You are comfortable working across the stack when necessary, and you have experience navigating the transition from ideation to production within high-growth or large-scale tech environments. We value candidates who possess strong communication skills in English and operate with a sense of curiosity and humility. While not required, we would love to see experience with functional programming, progressive web apps, or building two-sided marketplace platforms.
