The role
We are looking for a Tech Lead Java Backend Senior Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in either Amsterdam or Lille. This is a lead-level position where you will play a pivotal role in designing robust, scalable interfaces and reusable components. You will work within a focused team of five, guiding our engineering practices to ensure we deliver high-quality, secure, and data-driven solutions at a global scale.
Core responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the software development lifecycle, from initial prototyping and functional design to coding, testing, and final delivery.
- Foster a collaborative engineering culture by mentoring junior team members and applying rigorous software engineering principles to solve complex problems.
- Analyze existing systems to provide actionable recommendations for improvement while monitoring performance and conducting reliability analysis to ensure our platforms remain resilient.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess a deep technical background and a passion for engineering excellence. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- At least 7 years of professional experience working as a Java developer.
- Extensive knowledge of the Spring Boot framework, containerization with Docker, and the Kafka ecosystem.
- A strong grasp of modern architectural patterns, including microservices, BDD, and TDD.
- Practical experience working with Kubernetes and integrating with Salesforce Marketing Cloud APIs and SDKs.
- A proven ability to coach and mentor other engineers to help them grow and thrive.
- Fluency in English.
