Systems Engineer at AshburnConsulting

We are Ashburn Consulting, and we are currently looking for a mid-level Systems Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. Our firm specializes in providing high-level technical expertise to support complex enterprise environments. We are looking for someone who can manage everything from daily operations to long-term infrastructure strategy, ensuring our clients maintain secure and efficient systems across Linux, Windows, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot our Linux and Windows server environments, including storage, networking, and cloud infrastructure, to ensure optimal performance.
• Manage enterprise managed file transfer (MFT) operations, specifically using Axway Secure Transport, to facilitate secure data exchanges for our clients.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, such as runbooks and training materials, while coordinating with internal teams and vendors to drive projects to completion.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong background in enterprise infrastructure and cybersecurity tools. We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following qualifications:

• Proven experience managing both on-premises and cloud-based systems.
• Technical proficiency in Linux and Windows administration, as well as networking and storage management.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to document complex procedures and provide training to support staff.
• Experience with cybersecurity software, such as Symantec DLP and SPE, is highly valued.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, including the ability to conduct market research and assist with long-term migration planning.
• Fluency in English is required for all technical documentation and team collaboration.
