About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in a full-time capacity. This is a remote position focused on our alerting infrastructure. You will play a critical role in our Production Engineering department, ensuring our network ecosystem remains reliable, observable, and performant. You will work on highly distributed systems, helping us maintain the fastest and safest network services in the world.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and operate robust software that advances our internal observability competency.
- Solve complex scaling bottlenecks within our critical logging and alerting pipelines.
- Participate in a global on-call rotation to maintain the health and performance of the services your team owns.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong technical background and a bias for action. We are looking for the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in high-level programming languages, specifically Golang.
- Deep experience with Prometheus, Alertmanager, and Thanos.
- Strong understanding of distributed Linux environments and high-scale distributed system design.
- Solid grasp of networking protocols across layers 2 through 7 of the OSI model, including BGP.
- Experience working within a 24/7/365 service environment and a fast-paced, high-growth organization.
- Exquisite written and verbal communication skills.
Location
This position is remote and available to candidates based in the United Kingdom.
