At STR, we are a growing technology firm dedicated to advancing research and development for defense, intelligence, and national security. Our Information Technology team is a robust group of professionals who manage our complex infrastructure, secure sensitive data, and defend our digital frontiers, and we are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join our on-site team in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior administrators, Information System Security Officers, and researchers with daily systems maintenance and project support.
- Manage and configure NAS storage, networking equipment, firewalls, and directory services like MS Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Perform performance monitoring and analysis to optimize system efficiency.
- Develop process automation using PowerShell and other scripting technologies.
- Create and update technical documentation and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Ensure all systems remain compliant with DoD security guidelines and internal organizational policies.
- Provide support for both production and development environments, including occasional after-hours maintenance and patching.
Must-haves
- An Active Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
- Extensive experience with Linux Administration, specifically Red Hat, CentOS, and Ubuntu.
- Strong proficiency in Windows OS Administration.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Top Secret clearance with a full scope polygraph.
- Experience with enterprise virtualization tools.
- Knowledge of Multi-Factor Authentication and Public Key Infrastructure.
- Familiarity with web servers and advanced Active Directory features like LDAP and replication.
- Practical experience using STIGS, SCAP, HBSS, and ACAS.
- Understanding of DoD Ports, Protocols, and Services.
