The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior System Administrator to join our team for a full-time, hybrid role. In this position, you will be the primary on-site technical expert responsible for maintaining the operational availability of TENA. You will work closely with software developers, system engineers, and help desk technicians to ensure our systems remain secure, updated, and efficient. This role is essential to our technical roadmap, as you will help us bridge the gap between current mission requirements and future capability needs. Please note that this is a 1099 position with a performance period running from May 13, 2025, through March 22, 2026, and it requires you to be on-site at the prime contractor’s location in Alexandria, Virginia, two to three days per week.

A day in the life

• You will perform hands-on system administration, including software upgrades and troubleshooting, to ensure maximum system uptime and reliability.
• You will design and recommend architectural improvements, responding to security vulnerabilities and user needs while keeping our systems aligned with modern technology standards.
• You will communicate proactively with government teams and prime contractors, providing technical analysis, executive-level summaries, and documentation for contract deliverables.

Who you are

You are a proactive problem solver with at least 7 years of experience in system administration, ideally with a strong focus on Linux environments. You are comfortable working in a hybrid setting and are ready to take ownership of complex technical tasks. To qualify for this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• You hold a current SECRET clearance or higher.
• You are a US Citizen.
• You possess hands-on expertise in Linux server administration, RSA configuration, networking, and mid-level scripting.
• You have experience working with Apache, Bitbucket, Mac OS, and cloud architectures.
• You have excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, executive-level reports.
