We design and manufacture advanced propulsion systems for space, hypersonic, and missile applications, and we are looking for a summer intern to join our turbomachinery team on-site in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Build 3D models and design tooling, assembly aids, and both static and rotating turbomachinery components.
- Produce engineering drawings that include 2D drafting and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
- Perform first-principle analysis, hand calculations, CFD for aero/hydro applications, and structural analysis.
- Support rotor balancing activities.
- Assist with turbopump assembly and engine integration tasks.
- Conduct component leak and proof testing.
- Provide test support during powerpack and engine testing campaigns.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations to the team.
Must-haves
- Background in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or manufacturing engineering.
- Academic senior status or higher by May 2025, with completed coursework in fluids, mechanics of materials, and other advanced engineering classes.
- Strong ability to apply first-principle analysis to mechanical and fluid-based problems.
- Hands-on experience completing the full design-build-test cycle of a project.
- Proven teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively within a group.
- Commitment to continuously improving both technical and collaborative abilities.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience with CAD software.
Benefits
Base compensation for this role is $29.00/hour.
