Staff Zero Knowledge Engineer at Polygon

The role

We are seeking a Staff Zero Knowledge Engineer to join our distributed, high-impact team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position where you will play a critical role in moving our Plonky2 project into production. You will work directly with our proving systems and the zkEVM, helping to shape the core of our ZK technology roadmap.

Core responsibilities

• Develop and implement new features within the zkEVM, such as integrating support for new EIPs.
• Optimize existing codebase performance to ensure our infrastructure remains efficient and scalable.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve security vulnerabilities while performing rigorous code reviews to maintain high quality standards.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess a deep understanding of cryptography and blockchain systems. We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:

• At least 2 years of professional experience with Rust.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Zero Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) and the Ethereum ecosystem.
• A high level of mathematical maturity and a degree in a technical field.
• Familiarity with the EVM and, ideally, prior experience working with Plonky2.
• Proficiency in English for effective collaboration within our global team.
