At Osmind, we are dedicated to transforming the landscape of psychiatry through technology, services, and data. We currently support over 800 independent psychiatry practices across 49 states, providing them with a purpose-built electronic health record system and specialized software solutions. As a San Francisco-based Series B Public Benefit Corporation backed by prominent investors like Y Combinator and General Catalyst, we are in a phase of rapid growth. We are currently launching a brand new platform, and we are looking for someone to join us in shaping its technical foundation to make a meaningful difference for clinicians, researchers, and the patients they serve.
The opportunity
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Product Engineering team. This is a hands-on role where you will write code daily while also taking the lead on critical architectural decisions. You will serve as a mentor to our senior engineers and work closely with our clinical and product teams to ensure our software directly improves patient outcomes. This position is a rare chance to influence the trajectory of our platform from the ground up.
A day in the life
- You will take ownership of complex, ambiguous product challenges, guiding them from the initial technical design phase all the way through to shipping features to our end users.
- You will set the standard for our engineering culture by mentoring your peers through thoughtful code reviews, design feedback, and collaborative pair programming.
- You will act as a bridge between our technical, design, and clinical teams, translating complex medical workflows into scalable, reliable software solutions while championing the use of AI tools to improve our developer experience.
Who you are
You are an experienced engineer who thrives in the fast-paced environment of a venture-backed startup. You communicate clearly and can help align diverse stakeholders around technical goals. Your background includes:
- At least 8 years of full-stack engineering experience, specifically with systems built using TypeScript, Node.js, React, Postgres, AWS, and ECS.
- A proven history of leading technical initiatives that span multiple systems or teams.
- Extensive experience with 0-1 builds and a comfort level with early-stage company environments.
- A daily habit of using AI tools to accelerate development and a genuine passion for advancing mental healthcare.
- Fluency in English.
Why you'll love it here
We believe in building a team that reflects the diversity of the world around us, and we encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every single requirement listed. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive. As part of our team, you will enjoy the flexibility of remote work, allowing you to contribute to our mission from anywhere.
