We are currently looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team and help us revolutionize the future of education.
Key outcomes
- Design and scale core backend components that utilize generative AI and learner data to create personalized educational experiences.
- Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers and contributing to the strategic roadmap of the Learner Success team.
- Develop and deploy robust backend services and APIs that support millions of daily users.
- Analyze learner data to measure the effectiveness of AI-driven features and iterate on solutions to improve outcomes.
- Champion engineering excellence by implementing best practices regarding system safety, bias mitigation, and ethical AI development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including product managers and data scientists, to ensure our platform remains scalable and performant.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in building and scaling complex backend systems, supported by a strong foundation in software design, algorithms, and data structures.
- Proficiency in at least one backend programming language, such as Python, Java, or Go.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
- Proven ability to use data analytics to inform product decisions and drive technical improvements.
- Experience mentoring other engineers and fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English.
Compensation
We offer a competitive salary range of $178,200 to $203,800 for this position. In addition to base pay, we provide equity compensation and the flexibility of remote work. Please note that actual compensation is determined by factors such as your specific experience, skills, and location.
