At EquipmentShare, our mission is to empower the construction industry by providing tools that unlock significant productivity gains. We are building the future of construction through T3, our cloud-based operating system that centralizes workflows and data from moving assets and vehicles. We believe in investing in our people, and we are looking for someone who wants to grow their career while helping us evolve our platform into a highly scalable, customer-centric architecture.
The role
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position focused on backend development. You will work within agile, cross-functional teams alongside product managers and designers to build the next generation of our T3 Fleet application, which enables users to track and manage the health of their connected assets.
Core responsibilities
- Design, build, and deliver robust services that power our platform while shaping the technical direction of our product domains.
- Provide technical leadership by mentoring engineers, sharing your expertise, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organization.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to translate concepts into high-value features, balancing the need for rapid delivery with the responsibility to build sustainable, high-quality code.
Skills and experience
We are looking for a hands-on developer who is passionate about solving complex problems and taking ownership of outcomes. You should have at least 9 years of relevant development experience building production-grade solutions. Key qualifications include:
- Proficiency in a high-order object-oriented language, such as Python, though we are open to candidates with strong backgrounds in Go, Java, Scala, or C#.
- Solid experience with event-driven architectures, high-volume data processing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with public cloud platforms and building observability into applications.
- A proven track record of learning new technologies quickly and collaborating effectively with remote teams.
- While not required, experience with Kubernetes, service-oriented architectures, and streaming technologies like Kafka or AWS Kinesis is a plus.
Compensation and benefits
We are committed to supporting your well-being and professional growth. Our benefits package includes:
- Remote-first work environment with a focus on true work-life balance.
- Unlimited vacation policy.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
- 401k retirement plan.
- Dedicated opportunities for professional development through conferences, seminars, and continued education.
How to apply
If you are a driven engineer who cares about making a tangible impact and wants to help us build the future of construction, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your application to join our team, and we will be in touch to discuss how your experience aligns with our mission.
