The role

We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join our Platform Reliability group on a full-time, hybrid basis. This senior-level position focuses on building and scaling the monitoring, alerting, and orchestration systems that keep our large-scale infrastructure healthy and our engineering teams moving quickly.

Core responsibilities

• Design and implement a secure, reliable logging and monitoring infrastructure using modern, scalable tools that reduce technical debt and support future growth.
• Develop custom dashboards, alerts, and data visualizations that give real-time insight into system health and performance across multiple large projects.
• Mentor engineers on the team, participate in cross-team design reviews, and drive operational excellence while collaborating with other groups to identify and resolve systemic improvements.

Skills and experience

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or possess at least five years of experience building and operating highly scalable infrastructure as a software, systems, or site-reliability engineer. Strong proficiency in Python, Go, or shell scripting is required, along with deep knowledge of OpenTelemetry and hands-on experience with Elasticsearch and Grafana for dashboards, alerts, and visualizations. Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and tools such as Veneur or Fluentd is advantageous. Excellent written and verbal communication in English is essential.

Compensation and benefits

The expected base salary range for this position is $191,300 to $258,700. Full-time team members are also eligible for bonus and equity, plus a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and a hybrid work model allowing two remote days each week along with two fully remote weeks per year.
