We are now looking for a Staff Software Engineer to strengthen our custody accounting engineering team and help shape the next generation of retirement and custody solutions.
What you'll be doing
- Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications and backend services that rely on .NET, messaging systems, relational databases, and distributed architectures.
- Partner with product, design, and other engineering teams to clarify requirements, shape system architecture, and review code to keep quality high.
- Guide technical direction by delivering production-ready code, mentoring teammates, and contributing to Forge’s overall engineering strategy and best practices.
What you'll bring
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least eight years of professional software engineering experience, including five or more years writing production code in C# and .NET.
- Hands-on experience integrating with or building accounting or financial-services back-office systems.
- A track record of designing and operating distributed web applications and services in fast-paced, cross-functional environments.
- Practical use of AI agents to speed up the creation of reliable, production-level code.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to operate a computer and exchange detailed information for a full workday.
Experience in fintech-especially custody or retirement solutions-along with UI work in React or similar JavaScript frameworks, AWS infrastructure knowledge, and prior mentoring or documentation contributions are all viewed as valuable additions.
What you'll get
For residents of Denver, CO the annual salary range for this role is $158,000 - $205,000 plus an annual bonus. Final offers may vary based on geography, candidate experience, expertise, bonus, and other factors.
- Hybrid work arrangement that begins as remote in Denver, CO and transitions to at least nine onsite days per month once our Denver office opens.
