Stackwatch is on a mission to help teams master Kubernetes at scale. Founded by former Google cloud engineers and product managers, we are the team behind Kubecost, providing the intelligence needed to manage infrastructure cost, performance, and reliability. We are backed by top-tier venture capitalists and are currently growing our engineering team to help shape our product roadmap. If you are looking to join a fast-moving, remote-first startup where your contributions directly influence our strategy, we would love to meet you.
Role at a glance
We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a senior-level role that is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere. You will collaborate closely with our founding team and the Core Engineering Manager to build powerful tools using Go and React.
Your impact
- Own the full development lifecycle, from technical design and experimentation to analysis and launch, while providing mentorship through code and design reviews.
- Act as a bridge between leadership and engineering to evaluate feasibility, plan complex initiatives, and break down long-term goals into actionable steps.
- Establish and maintain high engineering standards across the organization to improve process efficiency and reduce technical incidents.
What you'll need
- At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of shipping performant and scalable backend services.
- Strong familiarity with Go and at least 2 years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
- At least 1 year of experience working with Clickhouse, DuckDB, or PostgreSQL.
- Excellent communication skills in English and a passion for infrastructure or DevOps tooling.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can iterate quickly and pivot to high-priority tasks as needed.
Perks and compensation
The salary range for this position is $195,000 to $225,000 USD. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer equity compensation and a robust benefits package:
- Comprehensive medical insurance, with 100% of premiums paid for employees and dependents.
- Dental and vision insurance coverage.
- Flexible paid time off and 11 company-paid holidays.
- Professional development opportunities and a supportive, remote-first culture.
- Equipment stipend of $3,000 every three years and a monthly reimbursement for shared office space.
- 12 weeks of paid new parent leave and a one-month paid sabbatical after three years.
- Wellness reimbursement of up to $500 per year and company-sponsored team travel opportunities.
- A 401k plan to help you save for the future.
