We're The Browser Company, and we're building a browser that helps people organize their lives, create ideas, and stay curious while they explore the internet. Our team of close to 100 people works remotely across many time zones, and we recently launched Dia, our second browser product that brings an AI assistant right into the browsing experience.
What is this role?
This is a full-time Staff Software Engineer position focused on our Windows product. The role sits at the senior level and is open to candidates working remotely from anywhere, provided they have at least four hours of overlap with colleagues in the Eastern Time Zone.
What will you do?
- Lead the UI development of Dia for Windows, making sure the experience feels native and polished on the platform.
- Shape early decisions around architecture, user experience, and technical trade-offs as one of the first engineers building Dia on Windows.
- Partner with Design, Infrastructure, and Data teams to deliver a fast, reliable browser that handles performance optimization, memory management, and platform compatibility.
What makes you a great fit?
You bring seven or more years of experience shipping high-quality Windows applications and have deep knowledge of the platform's APIs and frameworks such as XAML, WPF, UWP, or WinUI. You're comfortable writing in C++ or similar languages and care about the small details that turn a good interface into a great one. You enjoy collaborating across disciplines, sharing your Windows expertise, and learning from teammates. Strong written and spoken English is required for this role.
What's in it for you?
The salary range for this position is $250,000-300,000 USD, and every offer includes a choice of salary-optimized, equity-optimized, or balanced compensation packages. Beyond pay, we cover 100 percent of medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and up to 95 percent for dependents. Additional benefits include a 401k plan, a flexible vacation policy, twelve weeks of paid parental leave, a $1,500 home office stipend, and access to services such as One Medical, Talkspace, Teladoc, and HealthAdvocate for U.S.-based team members.
