What you bring

As a Staff Software Engineer focused on our Marketplace, you will report to the Head of Marketplace Engineering to build high-availability services that improve our platform's scalability, security, and efficiency. This is a full-time, remote position that allows you to work from anywhere. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our technical direction and mentoring others to ensure our team continues to excel.

• Design, build, and maintain the high-performance services that power our core platform.
• Lead backend engineering efforts while collaborating cross-functionally with teams like Data Science to deliver cohesive, data-driven solutions.
• Coordinate with engineering and product leadership to define and prioritize projects that align with our long-term business objectives.

Requirements

We are looking for a senior-level engineer who possesses a deep understanding of computer science fundamentals and has at least 8 years of experience in high-performance environments. You should be comfortable working with Go, Ruby, and TypeScript, or demonstrate a strong willingness to learn these technologies. Success in this role requires a sharp eye for detail, experience managing relational databases, and a proven ability to design robust RESTful APIs. We value candidates who are constant learners, eager to tackle complex challenges, and capable of improving developer productivity across the entire software development lifecycle.

What we offer

We believe in providing competitive compensation that reflects your expertise and location. Our base salary ranges are structured into three zones: Zone 1 is $170,000 to $207,000, Zone 2 is $158,000 to $192,000, and Zone 3 is $145,000 to $176,000, with additional bonuses and equity included.
