At Parafin we help small businesses access the financial tools they need by embedding lending, spend management, and savings products directly into the platforms where those businesses already sell. Our partners include DoorDash, Amazon, Worldpay, and Mindbody, and we handle the capital markets, underwriting, servicing, compliance, and customer service so they do not have to. Backed by GIC, Notable Capital, Redpoint Ventures, Ribbit Capital, and Thrive Capital, we have raised more than $194 million in equity and $340 million in debt facilities as a Series C company. We are now looking for an experienced engineer to help shape the technical foundation that powers these products.
What is this role?
This is a full-time, senior-level Staff Software Engineer position on the Lending Products team. The role is fully remote and focuses on the backend platforms and shared infrastructure that support Parafin’s lending offerings.
What will you do?
- Lead the technical design and ongoing development of the core platforms, frameworks, and shared infrastructure used by all lending products.
- Collaborate with product-focused engineering teams to understand their requirements and deliver platform capabilities that let them ship new features quickly and reliably.
- Drive technical direction through architecture reviews, design documents, and cross-team discussions while mentoring engineers and strengthening team processes.
What makes you a great fit?
You bring at least eight years of backend engineering experience, ideally in a platform or product setting, and you take genuine pride in building high-quality, maintainable software. You have guided ambiguous, cross-functional initiatives from idea to delivery and can balance trade-offs among reliability, scalability, developer experience, and speed. You communicate clearly with colleagues across Engineering, Product, and Data Science, and you naturally spot patterns that lead to well-designed abstractions. Experience creating internal platforms that other teams rely on, working in fintech or embedded finance, or designing systems that demand strong correctness and auditability are all valuable additions.
What's in it for you?
The salary range for this position is $285,000 to $330,000. In addition, we provide an equity grant, medical, dental, and vision insurance, work-from-home flexibility, unlimited PTO, commuter benefits, free lunches, paid parental leave, a 401(k) plan, and an employee assistance program.
