Staff Software Engineer (Backend) at Reach

You will join Reach Security, a company that connects with existing security tools to uncover blind spots, prioritize fixes, automatically correct misconfigurations, and keep security posture strong over time. As a Staff Software Engineer on the backend team, you will help shape the core systems that power a fast-growing product used by security teams who need reliable data processing at scale.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the design and delivery of backend services that handle APIs, data processing, infrastructure, and platform capabilities.
• Drive major engineering initiatives from technical proposal through production rollout while establishing best practices that keep code maintainable and dependable.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues quickly, reducing downtime and protecting business operations.

What you'll bring

• Seven or more years of software engineering experience, with substantial work on backend, platform, or systems programming.
• Strong proficiency in Python and its ecosystem, plus hands-on experience building multi-tenant SaaS platforms that guarantee data isolation, scalability, and security.
• Production experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and with relational databases.
• Deep command of computer-science fundamentals-data structures, algorithms, and computational complexity-along with proven skill in system design, data architecture, and data modeling.
• Clear, concise communication that translates technical trade-offs for both engineering peers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English.
