Role at a glance
We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a senior-level position that offers significant technical ownership and the ability to work in a hybrid capacity. You can choose to work from our San Francisco office two days per week, or you can join us remotely from within US time zones.
Your impact
- Design and build robust backend systems, APIs, and integrations that support our core booking, membership, and personalization features.
- Collaborate closely with product and frontend teams to define clear API contracts and data models that ensure our platform remains scalable and reliable.
- Improve our observability and telemetry frameworks to provide the team with deeper insights into system performance and health.
What you'll need
- Between 6 and 10 years of professional backend engineering experience, with a proven track record of designing systems that handle high throughput and complex data requirements.
- Proficiency in at least one modern backend language, such as Ruby, Go, Python, Java, or Node.js.
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and a deep understanding of effective data modeling.
- A pragmatic mindset that allows you to balance speed, scope, and technical quality effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate high-level product goals into reliable, maintainable technical architecture.
- Fluency in English.
