We are Zitara Technologies, a YCombinator S20 company dedicated to accelerating the transition to sustainable energy by ensuring that 30% of global GDP runs on batteries by 2035. We build predictive management software for large-scale battery deployments in satellites, electric vehicles, and renewable energy storage, and we are looking for a Staff Simulation Software Engineer to help us scale our core technology.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with our battery scientists and controls engineers to enhance our simulation and signal processing algorithms.
Develop robust, high-performance software using Python, Rust, and C/C++.
Mentor the wider engineering team on system architecture, maintainable code practices, and testability.
Document and communicate complex architectural designs to stakeholders across the company.
Partner with product and project management to scope development initiatives and align technical results with our customer roadmap.

Must-haves

At least 7 years of professional experience writing Python software using modern best practices.
Proven ability to architect simulation workflows, including the development of efficient engines, validation tools, and metrics aggregation.
A degree in Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills in English.

Nice-to-haves

Practical experience with numerical methods for differential equations.
Background in Kalman Filtering or other statistical modeling techniques.
Proficiency with Rust and Bazel.
Prior exposure to battery management or energy systems.
