At Materialize, we are building an operational data warehouse that changes how businesses handle information. By using a continuous computation model rather than traditional batch processing, we ensure that data remains consistent, current, and instantly available. Our platform allows teams to create real-time automation and data products without needing to learn entirely new workflows. Backed by investors such as Kleiner Perkins, Redpoint Ventures, and Lightspeed Venture Partners, we are dedicated to helping our customers build better experiences through streaming-first technology.
About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Product Designer to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this position, you will take full ownership of the user experience for our web interface. You will be responsible for designing everything from billing and admin workflows to complex monitoring and observability tools. Reporting to the Head of Product, you will work alongside our engineering and go-to-market teams to ensure our technical capabilities translate into intuitive, high-quality solutions for our users.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop deep expertise in your product area to transform complex technical functionality into simple, user-friendly interfaces.
- Manage a diverse portfolio of design projects, carefully balancing immediate needs with our long-term product vision.
- Lead the validation of your design solutions by conducting thorough research, integrating user insights, and maintaining clear documentation throughout the process.
Requirements
We are looking for someone who is passionate about technology and deeply empathetic toward the people who use it. You should have at least five years of professional experience, specifically with a focus on designing data infrastructure or complex data tooling. We value candidates who have a proven track record of leading large-scale design projects and possess excellent communication skills. You must be comfortable working in a hybrid environment and able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Location
This role is based in the United States, with a requirement to work from our office in Astor Place at least three days per week.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary for this position ranges from $175,000 to $200,000. In addition to your salary, you will receive equity compensation as part of your package. We also support a hybrid work model to provide our team with flexibility.
