The opportunity

We are looking for a Staff Product Designer to take ownership of our design systems. This is a pivotal role where you will lead the strategy, architecture, and adoption of our design system to ensure our product teams can deliver high-quality experiences at scale. You will act as a bridge between design and engineering, ensuring that our UI components, token strategies, and patterns are not only beautiful but also performant and accessible. By treating the design system as an internal product, you will empower your colleagues to build cohesive, user-centered interfaces that define the next generation of our platform.

A day in the life

• You will define the long-term strategy for our design system, creating scalable UI components and token architectures that maintain perfect parity between our design environments and production code.
• You will manage the system as a product, identifying new opportunities, prioritizing the roadmap based on team needs, and evangelizing the value of design quality across the organization.
• You will mentor fellow designers and collaborate closely with engineering partners to foster a culture of craft, ensuring that every interface we ship meets our high standards for accessibility and visual excellence.

Who you are

You are a seasoned designer with over 8 years of experience and a deep passion for user-centered design. You thrive in environments where you can think about the big picture while still caring about the smallest micro-interactions. Your background includes:

• A strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in visual interaction design and complex design systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, prototyping tools, and system documentation platforms like Storybook.
• A solid understanding of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with bonus points for experience in React or similar frameworks.
• A proven track record of project leadership, mentorship, and the ability to communicate complex ideas to cross-functional partners.
• A curious mindset that keeps you ahead of the curve regarding AI and search technologies.
