What is this role?
We are looking for a seasoned Staff Frontend Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team on a full-time basis. This is a lead-level position for someone who excels at building and scaling highly visible frontend architecture. You will work in a hybrid environment, and while we are based in the Bay Area, we welcome applicants from across the United States who are willing to relocate to join our office-centric culture.
What will you do?
- Take the lead on technical design, guiding your team to make the best architectural decisions for our systems.
- Develop and define rich, responsive user interfaces that integrate seamlessly with our backend components to create a scalable experience.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to ensure our platforms are both elegant and highly performant.
What makes you a great fit?
We are looking for someone with a strong background in software engineering who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. You should have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 8 years of experience, with 5 of those years in a lead or core development capacity. You will be successful here if you possess the following:
- Advanced proficiency in React for building scalable web applications.
- A solid grasp of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms and data structures.
- Experience with automated testing and version control systems like Git.
- A deep understanding of UX principles and site performance optimization.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset, especially when discussing complex technical architecture.
- Bonus points if you have experience with Next.js, TypeScript, NodeJS, GraphQL, or video streaming technologies.
What's in it for you?
We offer a competitive salary range of $170,000 to $200,000 USD. In addition to your base compensation, you will receive stock options. We also support a hybrid work model to help you balance your time effectively.
