At Ankorstore, we are dedicated to helping independent brands and retailers thrive by simplifying the wholesale process. We are building the essential infrastructure that powers modern commerce, and we are looking for a Staff Engineer to join our remote team and help us shape the future of our platform.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive key architectural decisions across our domains to ensure they align with our long-term technical vision.
- Translate complex strategy into actionable designs that our squads can execute effectively.
- Champion the adoption of modular, API-first, and event-driven design patterns.
- Contribute hands-on to mission-critical projects, refactors, and complex technical components.
- Debug and resolve systemic issues spanning our services, infrastructure, and data flows.
- Coach senior engineers and elevate the architectural thinking across the organization.
- Promote engineering excellence by raising the bar for code quality, testing, and observability.
- Partner with product and platform leaders to build coherent, scalable solutions.
- Explore emerging technologies and push prototypes that create leverage for our teams.
Must-haves
- At least 8 years of engineering experience, with 2 or more years in a Staff, Tech Lead, or equivalent senior individual contributor role.
- Proven ability to design, evolve, and scale complex distributed systems.
- Strong hands-on proficiency in PHP or Golang.
- Deep experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and domain modeling.
- A track record of driving architectural initiatives within fast-paced product environments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex architecture to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluency in English.
