The opportunity

We are seeking a Staff Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. In this senior role, you will act as a technical cornerstone for our engineering department, providing the leadership and hands-on expertise necessary to deliver high-impact solutions. You will navigate complex architectural challenges, balance roadmap priorities with technical trade-offs, and serve as a mentor to those around you. By fostering a culture of quality and technical excellence, you will help us build robust systems that stand up to the scale of our global mission.

A day in the life

• You will lead architectural discussions for our most complex systems, ensuring that every solution is both optimal and resilient.
• You will collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to deliver key roadmap items while carefully managing the balance between cost, speed, and completeness.
• You will act as a mentor and sponsor for other engineers, championing best practices, automated testing, and a culture of code ownership across multiple work-streams.

Who you are

You are a seasoned professional with at least 6 years of experience in software development, specifically within data-heavy environments. You have a deep technical toolkit and a collaborative spirit. Your background includes:

• Expertise in Python and TypeScript.
• A strong track record of building ETL workflows and data pipelines capable of real-time processing at scale.
• Hands-on experience with NoSQL, search-based databases, or vector databases like Elasticsearch and MongoDB.
• Proficiency in deploying cloud-based infrastructure on platforms like AWS or GCP.
• Experience with CI/CD frameworks and implementing automated testing strategies.
• The ability to communicate effectively in English while working across cross-functional teams.
