At Apaleo we build the API-first Property Management Platform that powers modern hotel operations. Our Open API architecture connects more than 35 microservices through Kafka, giving accommodation providers the automation and integrations they need to run their properties smoothly. We are now inviting an experienced Staff Engineer to strengthen our Platform team and help shape the technical foundation that thousands of hoteliers rely on every day.
About the Role
We are hiring a Staff Engineer on a Full Time basis. In this senior position you will guide architectural decisions, maintain platform reliability, and enable other engineering teams to deliver features quickly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the reliability of our platform while ensuring it stays scalable and the codebase remains easy to work with.
- Enable engineering teams with self-service infrastructure as code on AWS using Terraform and monitor production services to catch issues early.
- Act as the main technical contact for stakeholders, define best practices for measurable systems, and take part in on-call rotations to resolve production incidents.
Requirements
- More than eight years of software engineering experience, including proven technical leadership in coordinating complex feature implementations across teams.
- Expert-level skills in C# and .NET backend development together with hands-on experience in AWS, Docker, ECS or Kubernetes, Kafka, and PostgreSQL.
- In-depth knowledge of microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture, plus solid understanding of cloud computing on Amazon Web Services.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities for cloud infrastructure issues and clear communication skills for successful cross-team collaboration.
- Interest in understanding hotel operations so you can anticipate system load and performance needs.
Location
This role is based on-site in Germany.
