Staff Cloud Engineer at Thrasio

The role

We are seeking a Staff Cloud Engineer to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. This is a senior-level, player/coach position where you will balance hands-on technical contributions with leadership responsibilities. You will work alongside our distributed team across the US and India to manage our cloud infrastructure, release tooling, and services platform. Core responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management for a team of 2 to 3 engineers located in the US and India.
• Identify and execute opportunities to reduce costs, automate complex workflows, and build internal tools that boost overall engineering efficiency.
• Maintain high availability and performance across our systems through proactive monitoring, robust disaster recovery planning, and consistent configuration management.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• At least 8 years of professional experience supporting and maintaining production systems.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a management or leadership role.
• Deep expertise in Linux or similar POSIX-based operating systems.
• Strong proficiency in Kubernetes and AWS infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or Terragrunt.
• A solid understanding of networking principles and experience working with Python.
