The role

We are looking for a Staff Backend Software Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the San Francisco Bay Area. This is a senior-level position for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and is ready to take on significant technical challenges.

Core responsibilities

• Design and build robust backend services using TypeScript and Node.js to support our growing platform.
• Maintain and scale our production systems and data infrastructure within Kubernetes and GCP.
• Develop efficient data pipelines and orchestration workflows using Temporal, BigQuery, and dbt to ensure our data systems remain reliable and performant.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should have deep technical expertise and a strong collaborative mindset. We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

• Expertise in developing backend services with REST APIs, TypeScript, and Node.js.
• Proven experience managing production-grade web services and data systems on GCP using Kubernetes.
• Advanced proficiency in working with SQL databases, specifically Postgres.
• Experience with data orchestration and warehousing tools like Temporal, BigQuery, and dbt.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within our engineering team.
• Bonus points if you have previous experience thriving in a hyper-growth startup environment.
