What you bring

As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will operate in a high-impact, executive-level capacity to design and scale the systems that power our digital mental health programs. This is a full-time, remote role available to candidates based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, New York City, or Minneapolis. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating directly with product managers and customers to define technical requirements and system specifications.
• Architecting, developing, and maintaining backend systems that prioritize reliability, security, and performance.
• Mentoring and training fellow software engineers to elevate the quality and maintainability of our codebase.

Requirements

We are looking for a seasoned professional with approximately 12 years of relevant experience and a degree in Computer Science or a related technical field. You should possess a strong command of JavaScript and TypeScript, along with deep expertise in managing infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform. Proficiency with cloud environments like AWS, GCP, GKE, or Azure is essential, as is a solid understanding of SQL and relational databases. Beyond your technical toolkit, you are a clear communicator who excels in agile, fast-paced environments. We value candidates who are security-conscious, capable of designing robust microservices, and eager to foster growth within a collaborative team.

What we offer
