The role

We are seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a lead-level position designed for an experienced engineer who thrives in the fast-paced environment of an early-stage, high-growth startup. You will be instrumental in shaping our backend architecture and driving high-impact technical initiatives that support our growing user base.

Core responsibilities

• Architect and scale robust backend systems capable of supporting millions of users and high transaction volumes.
• Design and optimize complex data processing pipelines and distributed systems to ensure long-term performance and reliability.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring engineers, setting high standards for code quality, and driving engineering best practices across the organization.

Skills and experience

• Over 8 years of backend engineering experience, with a strong preference for backgrounds in data-intensive systems.
• Deep expertise in Python and Postgres, alongside a solid grasp of computer science fundamentals including system design and performance optimization.
• Proven track record of leading complex technical projects and managing large-scale data ingestion or ETL pipelines.
• Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to drive significant business impact within a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• A passion for the cryptocurrency space and a desire to work in an environment where you can help define the path forward.

Compensation and benefits

The starting salary for this role is between $210,000 and $240,000, depending on your specific skills, education, and professional experience. In addition to your salary, we offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being and long-term success:
