Summary
Plans, directs, and manages the accomplishment of Engineering objectives. Provides professional and technical guidance to employees and ensures sound engineering procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs a team of Engineers to support design, substantiate and certify aircraft parts, assemblies, installations and generate drawings to meet customer specifications and Greenpoint drawing standards.
- Ensures all work is accomplished in accordance with Greenpoint policies, processes and procedures.
- Works with leadership to set performance metrics, ensure metrics and measures are maintained, and takes appropriate actions to ensure targets are met.
- Responsible for preparing cost estimates for proposals and Statements of Work.
- Develops and implements systems for performance measurement and implements process improvements.
- Actively informs management of any new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
- Coaches, trains and mentors a team of Engineers to keep all team members working efficiently by developing tools, data bases, workflow procedures aimed at streamlining and optimizing project support.
- Prepares and conducts 1:1 discussions, annual performance reviews, mid-year reviews and makes salary adjustment recommendations.
- Proactively addresses any employee relations issues to enhance morale and productivity.
- Works with Engineering leadership to evaluate staffing plans to support production schedules and budgets.
- Partners with Engineering leadership and HR on recruiting, hiring, coaching, counseling, and terminations.
- Works with their engineering team to promote employee development.
- Supports Greenpoint values and culture.
- Manages multiple priorities and competing tasks and ensures assignment of tasks to team members meet project requirements.
- Works constructively with other departments within Greenpoint to gain consensus on actions to be taken to complete engineering tasks and resolve any engineering issue requiring input from other departments.
- Communicates clearly with the engineering team, other departments and vendors as required to facilitate smooth development of designs and timely completion of actions.
- Prepares meeting materials and presents status of specific program design issues, metrics, and measures.
- Ensures adherence to schedule, budget and quality in accordance with program requirements.
- Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.

Summary of Education, Experience & Certification
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Engineering or relevant equivalent and 8 years related experience in the aerospace industry with a minimum of 5 years technical management experience with proven track record of effective team building and talent development; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience working with the FAA and other Regulatory Agencies preferred.

- Working knowledge of Database software; Design software; Internet software; Project Management software; and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to travel as required.
- Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.
The expected WA salary range for this position is between $133,160.00 - $183,095.00 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
