Role at a glance
We are seeking a Sr. Staff AI Engineer to lead our applied AI initiatives. This is a full-time, senior-level position that is 100% remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the United States, with the exception of Hawaii.
Your impact
- Architect and maintain production-grade generative AI systems that directly enhance patient engagement, streamline provider workflows, and optimize clinical operations.
- Establish technical standards for AI safety, reliability, and performance to ensure our tools are effective and trustworthy within a high-stakes, regulated healthcare environment.
- Serve as a technical multiplier by defining system architecture and solving complex engineering challenges to support our broader engineering team.
What you'll need
- Over 10 years of software engineering experience, including 7+ years working with public cloud providers like AWS or GCP and 5+ years building distributed systems.
- At least 5 years of professional experience with Python and proficiency in an additional backend language such as Java, Go, or TypeScript.
- A proven track record of 2+ years building AI-powered products at scale, specifically utilizing foundation models and modern orchestration frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or vector databases.
- Deep expertise in MLOps, including data pipelines, model evaluation, and observability systems.
- Strong communication skills in English and a passion for navigating the complexities of compliance and human-in-the-loop systems in healthcare.
