Sr. Software Engineer, Platform & SRE at Panorama Education

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform and SRE team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be instrumental in scaling our infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing user base. You will champion Site Reliability Engineering practices, enhance our system observability, and improve the overall developer experience for our engineering organization. This is a remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere within the Continental United States, though you are also welcome to work from our Boston office if you prefer.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust code while proactively managing system reliability.
• Lead the planning and execution of major technical projects by identifying potential obstacles and mapping out clear paths to successful delivery.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to foster a shared understanding of our technical goals and drive collective success.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience writing production-level code, with a strong background in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering.
• Proficiency in cloud environments, specifically AWS, with a preference for those holding an AWS certification.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Strong skills in containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proven ability to manage and tune databases like RDS.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and a demonstrated history of technical leadership on cross-functional teams.

Location

This role is remote and can be performed from anywhere within the Continental United States, or in-person at our Boston office.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary for this position ranges from $137,000 to $182,700. This figure is one part of our total rewards strategy, which also includes annual bonuses, equity awards, and health and welfare benefits. We are proud to offer a flexible remote work environment to all our team members.
