Sr. Fullstack Software Engineer at Wild Alaskan Company

Wild Alaskan Company is on a mission to transform food systems by connecting people with sustainable, wild-caught seafood. We combine three generations of industry expertise with a custom-built, data-driven ecommerce platform to deliver high-quality products to households across the United States in a fully remote, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain robust, scalable web applications using Laravel and Vue.js.
• Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical specifications.
• Design efficient database structures and write high-performance SQL queries.
• Write clean, maintainable code while conducting peer code reviews to ensure high quality.
• Optimize application performance through profiling, caching, and debugging complex issues.
• Participate in Agile workflows, including sprint planning and task estimation.
• Monitor and improve application security to mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to the growth of the team by sharing technical expertise and mentoring others.

Must-haves

• At least 8 years of experience with Laravel and Vue.js.
• Strong proficiency in OOP and code planning.
• Deep experience with TDD and testing methodologies like PHPUnit.
• Expertise in building RESTful APIs and single-page applications.
• Solid command of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
• Comprehensive understanding of relational databases and Git workflows.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
• Fluency in English.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with TypeScript and server-side rendering tools like Nuxt.js.
• Background in E-commerce or the food industry.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of BI tools such as Looker or Google Analytics.
• Previous experience working in a startup environment.
• Understanding of UI/UX design principles.

Benefits

The salary range for this role is $130,000 - $170,000 per year.
