Sr Full Stack Java Software Engineer at Equip Health

Equip is a pioneering virtual healthcare company dedicated to providing evidence-based eating disorder treatment that is accessible to everyone. Since our founding in 2019, we have grown into a nationally recognized organization that empowers thousands of patients through a comprehensive, team-based care model. We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Java Software Engineer to join our fully remote team and help us build and maintain the web applications that drive our mission forward.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable web applications within our cloud infrastructure.
• Lead technical execution by balancing the delivery of new features with the management of technical debt.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers while fostering a culture of high-quality code and best practices.
• Perform thorough code reviews, write automated tests, and ensure our systems remain performant and reliable.
• Create architectural documentation and proposals to guide our engineering strategy.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to plan, estimate, and schedule development projects.
• Monitor production environments and triage issues to ensure seamless service for our patients.

Must-haves

• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including a full-cycle implementation.
• Strong proficiency with Java, JavaScript, and React.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services and cloud-based architecture.
• Experience building highly scalable, distributed systems with microservice backends.
• Proficiency with version control tools like Git and GitHub.
• Solid understanding of web protocols, including REST and OAuth.
• Ability to work during 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time or 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Central Time.
• A four-year degree or equivalent practical experience.
